G2

I am grateful for:

My new friend, Helen, who is helping me out.

My bestest friend, Mariana, who is a true soul mate.

Another day sober.

A great doctor's report on my health.

A great meeting that buoyed my spirits.

My husband.

My daughter.

I am thankful for my husband who is a wonderful man.
I am thankful for my daughter who is a jewel.
I am thankful for my parents and sister and all my other wonderful family members.
I am thankful for a wonderful place at which to work.
I am thankful for a second chance at life.
I am thankful for God's grace in my life and all the blessings bestowed my way.

Dusting off

What brings me to this point of having to rid myself of the flames and burnouts of life? Painting and furnishing one room in my house while trying to be a good little girl. Not working too well, I am afraid.

That was a run around of the deeper lying causes.

What is really bugging me is injustice on all levels. But closer to home I find myself wondering how well I will deal with being senile and alone and regretful of things I should have done and those I shouldn't.

But an optimist at heart, I feel certain I can deal with it but not sure how much joy each day will bring.

Must be good

yes, I know that being bad can be good but being good is better.

My library, the school media center's place for books, junk that could be used for enrichment of children's live [junk], videos/dvds, art and music has received special attention this summer.

So good for me and my patrons...ty FSU for training me in the fine art of managing a collection.

Time to shine

this is the place for shining thoughts. time to shine. ha ha

Last year this time I was in mourning for a friend, Denise, who was in the last stages of a cancer death.

This year, I have mourned the loss of another dear one, Joe, also from cancer.

I am not sure if my ability to harden to death and change is going well. Yes, I am able to still function but worry about he aftermath.

I know the other shoe is sure to drop soon. I just love not caring about anything except creating something and can't wait for the next project.

Just when I thought it couldn't get any weirder or is weirder even a word?

How sweet it is to find a spot where I can unleash my thoughts in a little cocoon that hopefully will metamorph into a solution.

Today's topic: retirement

I am being screwed over by the state legislature of Florida. Man, this is a biggie pop under the bus time.

Join in my suicidal class action suit sure to bring embarrassment to both my family and me.

Thoughts on L2

I had a conversation with a library media specialist serving a local high school regarding making the space more like Barnes & Noble with students sipping coffee & nibbling on coffee cake while listening to music and chatting with other students both face-to-face and virtually. This all came up because their "book cafe" seemed to have turned into a place to buy food and see their friends. She was wondering if maybe that was an okay thing, and that maybe making the whole library experience like that would attract more patrons.

This chat caused me to evaluate how my patrons, elementary-aged students, use my space-what they enjoy doing and so forth. The students really love my "free time class days" in which I do not do a FCAT-skill building lesson. On those days they enjoy building stuff with Legos and Lincoln Logs, being violent with the hand puppets, playing chess or checkers or other board games, putting together puzzles, drawing, looking at the gross pictures in the Guinness series, playing around on the computer and looking at magazines.

My question is: What is wrong with that?
